Aircraft on AML J149.. or GINYA J149.. who depart the Washington-Dulles International Airport should expect one of the following:
- If a pilot can accept a re-route, route him via BLUES RAMAY EYTEE J149.. as appropriate.
- If a pilot cannot accept a re-route, he should be told to expect radar vectors to EYTEE to join the J149, and his flight plan should be amended to EYTEE J149..
If a pilot cannot accept a re-route, TILLY will vector the aircraft towards the BLUES intersection, climb the aircraft to it's SOP altitude, and hand the aircraft off to LURAY or the next controller in line. Prior to transfer of communications, TILLY shall turn the aircraft direct to EYTEE to join the J149 unless otherwise coordinated. If the pilot CAN accept the re-route, TILLY should give the aircraft direct BLUES as soon as practical and have the pilot resume his own navigation.
Aircraft on LDN J134.. who depart the Washington-Dulles International Airport should expect radar vectors to LDN to join J134. No re-route is necessary. TILLY will vector the aircraft towards the BLUES intersection, climb the aircraft to it's SOP altitude, and hand the aircraft off to LURAY or the next controller in line. Prior to transfer of communications, TILLY shall turn the aircraft direct to LDN to join the J134 unless otherwise coordinated.
Summary:
The new departure fix for westbound departures is BLUES. Aircraft going to J149 or J134, regardless of initial fix in their flight plan, will be vectored towards BLUES prior to being given direct to the first fix in their flight plan. The preferred routing to the J134 is BLUES LDN J134.. The preferred routing to the J149 is BLUES RAMAY EYTEE J149.. Other routes should only be used after thorough coordination. Any aircraft with BLUES or LDN as the first fix should still be cleared via the CAPITAL DP. Aircraft who are to expect radar vectors to EYTEE to join the J149 are not to be given the CAPITAL DP.
