MBI 08-01 - Position Relief SOP

A Position Relief SOP has been created to ease the position relief process. It is located at http://www.zdcartcc.org/sop/relief.sop.

The process is not as easy as it used to be due to the limitations of the pilot clients. SB3 checks to be sure that the frequency a pilot is tuned to in COM1 (or COM2 if that's the active one) is still the primary frequency for a controller in range. If it is not, then SB3 drops the voice connection. This means you cannot change positions and continue to work the old frequency without telling pilots because all voice pilots will be disconnected from the voice room within 15 secs of the controller changing the primary frequency. I was assured by a BOG member that improvements to the pilot clients are being made and this problem will be fixed. You can expect this to be updated when that occurs.
